Terms of Service
Last updated:
These terms govern your use of HeatPumpIndex, a directory of Greater Toronto Area businesses. By using HeatPumpIndex, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. Effective date: September 7, 2026.
What is HeatPumpIndex, and what does it not do?
HeatPumpIndex is an information service. We publish listings, rankings and guides compiled from public sources so you can find and compare local businesses. We do not take requests, do not pass your details to anyone, and do not refer, match or introduce you to any business. You contact whoever you choose, directly. HeatPumpIndex performs no work itself and is not a party to any agreement you make with a business you find here.
Is the listing and ranking information guaranteed?
HeatPumpIndex information is provided on an as-is basis. We work to keep listings, ratings and pricing accurate, but we do not warrant that any detail is complete, current or error-free, and rankings are our editorial opinion based on a published formula. A high rank is not a check of any kind, and not a guarantee of any business's work, insurance, credentials or conduct. Always verify details and get written quotes before hiring.
Who is responsible if there is a dispute with a business?
You are responsible for choosing and dealing with any business. HeatPumpIndex is not liable for the quality, safety, timing, pricing or legality of work performed by a business you found through the site. Any dispute, claim, damage or loss arising from that relationship is strictly between you and that business. We encourage you to confirm insurance, references and written contracts first.
Where does the review data come from?
Ratings and reviews shown on HeatPumpIndexare sourced from public Google Maps data and remain the property of Google and the individual reviewers. Business photographs are copied from those same public listings and from each company's own website, and remain the property of whoever took them. Google and Google Maps are trademarks of Google LLC, which has no affiliation with HeatPumpIndex and does not sponsor it. Business names, logos and trademarks belong to their respective owners and appear on HeatPumpIndex for identification and directory purposes only.
Who owns the content on HeatPumpIndex?
The HeatPumpIndex name, site design, rankings, written guides and original data compilations are owned by HeatPumpIndex and protected by intellectual property laws. You may view and share pages for personal, non-commercial use with attribution, but you may not scrape, copy, resell or republish our rankings, datasets or content in bulk without written permission. Automated data harvesting of the site is not permitted.
How may you use the site?
Use HeatPumpIndex to research and contact businesses for genuine purposes. You may not use the site to send spam, harvest contact details for bulk outreach, impersonate others, or interfere with the site's operation or security. We may block access that appears fraudulent or abusive, to protect both readers and the businesses listed.
If you own a listed business
Listings are compiled from public information and appear without payment; no business pays to be listed or ranked. If a detail is wrong, or you would rather not appear, email evidence@heatpumpindex.ca with your business name and what you want changed, including any photograph you want taken down. We handle corrections and removals, usually within 2 business days.
What are the limits of HeatPumpIndex's liability?
To the fullest extent permitted by Ontario law, HeatPumpIndex is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the site or any business relationship formed after using it, and our total liability for any claim is limited to CAD $100. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Can these terms change?
HeatPumpIndex may update these terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will post the revised terms here with a new effective date. Your continued use of the site after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms. We recommend reviewing this page and our privacy policy periodically.
What law governs these terms?
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. You agree that the courts located in Ontario have jurisdiction over any dispute relating to HeatPumpIndex or these terms. Questions about these terms can be sent to evidence@heatpumpindex.ca.
